Rich & Juicy

Rich & Juicy
Ifeoma Orjiekwe

Could be Good  hosted a residency in early 2016 with Ifeoma Orjiekwe. A self taught artist living in South East London. Ifeoma explored narratives of feminine beauty through repetition and pattern, drawn from her personal experience of Nigerian and African culture and art.

Ifeoma describes her works as “rich and juicy, I love the way the colour makes patterns energetic. Its very beautiful and exquisite like Nigerian art it’s very powerful and strong. Earrings, bracelets, African textiles and clothes show who we are.”

Ifeoma has worked with Deptford based disability arts charity Heart n Soul and artist Ben Connors to create a touring studio called ‘Agozie Art’ (Blessed Art). It toured the Southbank Centre, the British Museum and Tate Britain.

Could be Good held and exhibition of Ifeoma's work. Called "Rich & Juicy", which took place during Art Licks weekend and Deptford X Arts Festival in September 2016.
